As reported by Variety, Sunday will join the cast of the limited series alongside Abbott Elementary star Chris Perfetti. The duo will portray characters Jodie and Tiger Tiger, respectively. They will appear alongside previously announced cast members Jason Bateman, Linda Cardellini, David Harbour, and Richard Jenkins.
The show revolves around a love triangle involving three adults navigating middle-age dissatisfaction, which ultimately results in one of them meeting an unfortunate fate. Spanning seven episodes, the series is currently in pre-production, though further plot details remain under wraps.
In other news, filming for the second season of Wednesday concluded in December. The new season will introduce several fresh faces to the cast, including Billie Piper (Scoop), Joanna Lumley (Fool Me Once), Steve Buscemi (Boardwalk Empire), and Thandiwe Newton (Westworld). Additional cast members include Heather Matarazzo (Scream), Joonas Suotamo (Star Wars), Haley Joel Osment (Kingdom Hearts), Noah Taylor (Law & Order), Evie Templeton (Return to Silent Hill), and Owen Painter (The Handmaid’s Tale). Notably, pop icon Lady Gaga is also set to appear.
Jenna Ortega will reprise her role as the titular character while also stepping into a producer role for the new season. Speaking about the experience, Ortega expressed her enthusiasm for being involved in the production process.
“It’s been an incredible experience,” she shared. “I’ve never had this level of involvement in a TV series before, though it was something we discussed during the first season. Having a say in creative decisions, from set designs to prosthetics, has been both exciting and educational.”
With Wednesday gearing up for its anticipated return and DTF. St Louis in the works, audiences can look forward to compelling storytelling and fresh performances from these talented actors.
